Ex Rental Bikes FAQ's
How old are your ex rental bikes?
Our Ex-rental bikes are generally no more than two seasons old (often less!) and are stored for 4 months over winter each year.
Are the bikes in good cosmetic condition?
Yes. The bikes are generally in 'good' to 'very good' cosmentic condition, with only minor scuffs and scratches. (We can provide photos of specific bikes if requested).
Are the bikes in good mechanical condition?
Yes. All our ex rental bikes are serviced prior to sale so you can buy with confidence.
Do the bikes have good tyres?
Yes. All our bikes are fitted with good quality, branded, puncture protected tyres. (With a hire fleet of over 60 bikes we have to ensure as few punctures as possible!).
Do the bikes come with locks and accessories included?
Locks are not included. All bikes come with a rack and mudguards. (New or second hand locks, stands, bottle-cages, saddle bags, lights and other accessories are always available in store).
How do I choose the right bike?
Frame sizes are listed but if you are in any doubt, you can pop in and see us and we will help and advise on getting exactly the right bike to suit your needs :)
Do you sell ex rental Road Bikes?
No.
Do you sell ex rental Mountain Bikes?
No. All ex rental bikes are 'hybrids'. (A hybrid bike is halfway between a mountain bike and a city bike. The tyres are thinner than Mountain Bike tyres, so you can get about on city streets and light off-road trails)
Do you sell ex rental Kids Bikes?
Yes we do. We have a range of kids bikes with 20" or 24" wheels. (As a very, rough guide only: a 20" wheel might be suitable for a child between 6 and 8 years; a 24" wheel might be suitable for a child between 9 and 11 years.)
Do you sell ex rental Trailers, Tag-Alongs and Dog Trailers?
Yes we do. Please see our Ex Rental listings for details.
Can I bring the bike back if there is a mechanical issue?
Yes. The bike is serviced so we don't expect that you will bring it back but if there is a mechanical issue (unrelated to rider or third party damage) within the first two months, we will gladly put it right.
Do you offer a warranty ?
No, not as such. The bikes are fully serviced prior to sale but if there is a mechanical issue, unrelated to rider or third party damage, within the first two months, we will gladly put it right.
Do you buy or part exchange second hand bikes?
No, not as a general rule. We would not be able to offer you a competitive price for your bike.
